Get a peek of daily life in a variety of settlements outside of Zanzibar’s tourist attractions and beaches. You’ll meet a local in a rural home, embark on a walking trip that connects neighbouring villages, pass by fishermenn, artists, and a seaweed farm. The tour begins with a stop at a women's pottery and handcrafts group, followed by stops at seaweed farms, a local school, a local herbalist, and a local clinic. Your village guide will then take you to a woman who will demonstrate how to make rope out of coconut fibre. After that, we'll have lunch at a local restaurant where you'll be able to sample real Zanzibari cuisine seasoned with a variety of spices and herbs. There's also the option of visiting a soap business that makes soap with local seaweed as the major ingredient.
Our driver picks you up in Stone Town and for those need a different pick-up location, additional fees may apply.
All our trips are organized in line with COVID-19 safety guidelines, ensuring all our guests are safe and happy.
